DOVES Attends California Partnership to End Domestic Violence Southern Section Meeting; Plus Spring Events

April was a busy month for the staff at the DOVES Outreach Center. DOVES was happy to take part in the annual Community Church Easter Egg Hunt. Hundreds of children enjoyed the festivities which included games, prizes, and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.

DOVES Program Manager, Quinton Page, was proud to represent the organization at the quarterly California Partnership to End Domestic Violence Southern Section Meeting, where he presented on the ongoing domestic violence prevention and education efforts that have been going on in Big Bear schools. Quinton lead a roundtable discussion on the importance of prevention efforts, and was able to learn a lot by hearing the techniques that our sister organizations are utilizing around California.

On Friday, April 28th, volunteer Janet Grace Nelson organized her annual “Spring Fashion Day” in which many of our clients were able to come and receive makeovers, including new clothes, shoes, accessories, make-up, and hair-dos. The event was a big success with smiles all around. DOVES would like to send a special thanks to Janet Grace and her team of volunteers who generously donated their time and fashionable items.
